In this influential role, you will drive technical quality across major transportation projects, mentor emerging engineers, and contribute to the evolution of safe, efficient, and future‑ready highway and rail systems.Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to highway, roadway, and rail infrastructure projects—from initial assessment through planning and designCollaborate with Highway & Rail team leadership to manage and motivate a high-performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goalsEffectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical transportation initiativesEngage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phaseBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required; previous project or team management experience preferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredExpert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices and demonstrated technical proficiencyAdvanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) as well as Microsoft OfficeStrong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering lawsStrategic thinker with a proven ability to guide and motivate team activity and resolve issues with urgencyAn articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groupsExperience with project budgeting preferred; basic understanding of accounting processesParticipation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferredLead technically challenging highway and rail projects that elevate the safety, efficiency, and resilience of transportation systemsMake a meaningful impact as a mentor and technical advisor developing the next generation of engineering talentCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a flexible, supportive work environmentCurious about the impactful work our Highway & Rail team is doing?
