Job Description

Job Title: HVAC Technician Job Description The HVAC Technician will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in a commercial environment. This role involves coordinating with team leaders, project managers, and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs. The technician will represent the company as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment at the customer's location. The position requires using cutting-edge software and technology, along with hand-tools, to diagnose and repair units, while strictly enforcing safety standards and maintaining accountability of company assets. Responsibilities + Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems. + Coordinate with team leaders/project managers and customers to forecast issues and synchronize on-site work. + Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by identifying and repairing equipment. + Use software and hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units. + Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets. + Perform new facility set-ups and retrofits for existing facilities. Essential Skills + Strong understanding of HVAC systems, air conditioning theory, mechanical layouts, and pipe fitting. + Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tools, software, and engineering specifications. + Experience with commissioning and repairing commercial HVAC systems. + Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and cutting-edge software. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service on-site. + Safety compliant with ability to maneuver in small areas and be on feet for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ideally 5 years of HVAC experience. + EPA Certification. + Mechanical repair and preventive maintenance skills. + Electrical troubleshooting and installation expertise. Work Environment The work environment consists of a large building located in San Diego, with duties requiring travel throughout the county to service clients, including universities, casinos, and hospitality establishments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
