EEG Technologist (END Technologist/Specialist)

The EEG Technologist performs routine and advanced electroencephalography (EEG) procedures in inpatient and outpatient settings. This roleis responsible forhighqualitydata acquisition, patient safety, andaccuratedocumentation to support clinical interpretation. The technologist works under indirect supervision and collaborates with physicians, senior technologists, and the broader care team.The EEG Technologist prepares patients and conducts routine and advanced outpatient, inpatient, and extraoperative END procedures; collects data pertinent to the interpretation of test results and assists medical staff with complex recordings.EEG Technologist:Prepare patients and obtain comprehensive clinical histories.Accurately measure and apply EEG electrodes following established standards (<5 kΩ).Perform routine, long‑term, and advanced EEG studies according to departmental protocols.Recognize, troubleshoot, and reduce artifacts to ensure optimal recording quality.Document patient behavior, clinical events, and relevant observations.Maintain equipment cleanliness, report malfunctions, and follow safety and infection‑control procedures.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff using AIDET principles.Support a collaborative and patient‑centered work environment.Other Duties as AssignedWill be hired into the role based on qualifications the candidate meets:END Technologist 1High school graduate or equivalent and 1 year experience working in a neurodiagnostic patient care environment; OR Student enrolled at least 6 months in ABRET recognized program and 6 months experience working in a patient care environment; OR Bachelor’s degree in related field.BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)END Technologist 2High School diploma or equivalent; One year of experience in the performance of procedures in a patient care environment; Certification in the following will be required upon hire:EEG/Electroencephalography: R. EEG T.BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)END SpecialistThree years of experience in the neurodiagnostic field which includes one year experience in their specialty modality of practice.Certification in the following will be required upon hire:Certification Examination in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM)BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)Job Related Knowledge,Skills and Abilities(Competencies):Computer literacy Ability to troubleshoot common equipment problems Clear, concise written documentation and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge of current techniques/regulatory standardsMust be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodationBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for this educationCompletion of anABRETrecognizedneurodiagnostic program.R.
