Offering an unmatched, 360-degree solution set for a collection of world-class owned venues and a client roster that includes the most influential, highest attended arenas, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions on the planet.The Business Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the Berger Foundation Iceplex, with primary ownership of systems, scheduling, and Welcome Center operations.This is a systems-driven role requiring a strong background in software management, scheduling platforms, POS systems, and operational workflows. The Business Operations Manager serves as the primary administrator of DaySmart, ensuring accuracy across scheduling, registrations, waivers, staffing inputs, and reporting.This role oversees Welcome Center operations, including staff management, concessions, skate rentals, liability waivers, and customer service escalation. The position reports to the General Manager and serves as Manager on Duty as required.This role has authority to make day-to-day operational decisions related to scheduling, staffing, and Welcome Center operations within approved guidelines.This role pays an annual salary of $80,000 to $90,000 and is bonus eligibleBenefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).This position will remain open until May 8, 2026.Located at Acrisure Arena, the Berger Foundation Iceplexserves as the premier community ice facility in the Coachella Valley. Designed for hockey and skating programs while supporting large-scale events, the Iceplex delivers a high-volume, customer-facing experience that relies heavily on efficient systems, scheduling, and operations.Systems & Software ManagementServe as the primary administrator for DaySmart, including:Ice schedulingProgram and event setupOnline registration & POS integrationLiability waiversReporting and reconciliationEnsure data accuracy and system integrity across scheduling, registrations, payroll inputs, waivers, and reportingProactively identify and resolve discrepancies or system issuesDocument operational processes, workflows, and system procedures to support continuity, training, and scalabilityGenerate operational and financial reports as directed by the General ManagerWelcome Center OperationsOversee daily Welcome Center operations, including:Customer service & AdmissionsSkate rentalsLiability waivers complianceSupervise, schedule, and train Welcome Center staffCreate weekly staffing plans and task assignmentsLead onboarding, training sessions, and staff meetingsAct as first point of escalation for customer service issues, operational breakdowns, and staff concernsServe as Manager on Duty as neededFinancial & Administrative OversightOversee daily reconciliation of digital and POS transactionsPrepare andapprove bi-weekly payroll for Welcome Center staffManage Iceplex concessions:OrderingInventoryQuality controlAssist with budgeting, reporting, and administrative duties as assignedPrograms & EventsCoordinate logistics for Iceplex programs, birthday parties, and special eventsSupport corporate and community events hosted at the IceplexServe as the primary Iceplex liaison with internal departments (Hockey Operations, Arena Operations, Events, Sponsors, Marketing, etc.) to ensure accurate scheduling and operational alignmentSupport and implement operational change initiatives, ensuring adoption of updated processes, systems, and policiesSuccess Measures Performance in this role will be evaluated based on:Accuracy and reliability of DaySmart scheduling, registrations, and waiversWelcome Centeroperational efficiency and customer experienceStaff readiness, training completion, and scheduling coverageTimeliness and accuracy of reporting, reconciliation, and payroll inputsRequired Skills/ Experience:Strong background in software systems management, scheduling tools, and POS platforms.3-5 years of previous experience in Business Operations leadership.Experience managing customer-facing operations in a high-volume environmentProven ability to supervise, train, and schedule part-time staffStrong organizational skills with high attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced, evolving operational environmentAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and general IT systemsPreferred:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience)Experience in ice arena, recreation, or sports facility operationsExperience implementing or managing registration and scheduling platformsFamiliarity with concessions or retail operationsWorking Conditions:Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays requiredFrequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.At OVG, we understand that to continue positively disrupting the sports and live entertainment industry, we need a diverse team to help us do it.
