IT Specialty infrastructure engineers manage the security of computer systems, networks, telecommunication, and inter-application information transfers. They ensure optimum uptime for complete network, telecom, cloud services, cloud storage, and cloud servers. The engineer also improves, plans capacity, and designs infrastructure engineering projects. A Senior Professional applies advanced knowledge of job areas typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include: u2022 Managing projects/processes, and working independently with limited supervision. u2022 Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. u2022 Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bacheloru2019s degree 7+ years of relevant experience without a Bacheloru2019s degree Relevant certifications preferred u2013 Cisco CCNP or higher u2013 Juniper routing/switching/wireless experience is a plus Skills juniper Top Skills Details juniper Additional Skills & Qualifications u2022 Senior Specialty Infrastructure Engineers are expected to be able to work independently as well as providing guidance to other team members as needed. u2022 Must have strong experience with troubleshooting network routing/switching issues and be comfortable with the command line u2022 All candidates will go through a proctored, hands-on lab where their routing and switching skills will be tested o Candidate will be provided a scenario with certain items that need to be configured and fixed o Lab lasts 90 minutes u2022 Hybrid Role u2013 Remote and On-Site work o Senior Specialty Infrastructure Engineers are expected to go on-site to our client's facilities as needed for troubleshooting, hardware installations, maintenance, repair and replacement of physical networking equipment (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Wireless APu2019s and UPSu2019s) o Valid Driveru2019s License Required u2013 Ability to operate a motor vehicle and drive distances of greater than 100 miles/3 u2013 4 hours as required o Must be able to work in active construction sites with appropriate PPE o Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25 u2013 50 lbs, occasional ladder use, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing u2022 On-Call Component o Senior Specialty Infrastructure Engineers will be part of a group of On-Call engineers that provide support on a rotating basis uf0a7 After-Hours from 6pm u2013 6am and 24/7 on the weekends (Saturday u2013 Sunday) o Rotations swap out on Tuesdays o Current Team consists of 8 Engineers u2013 So coverage will be once every 8 weeks Experience Level Senior Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.
