Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Algona, Iowa. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for professionals with a background in property and casualty insurance as well as agency insurance. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries with precision and attention to detail. u2022 Conduct thorough account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions. u2022 Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and improve reporting processes. u2022 Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities. u2022 Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting workflows. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, specifically in property and casualty insurance and agency insurance. u2022 Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management. u2022 Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations. u2022 Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations with accuracy. u2022 Familiarity with accounting principles and regulatory compliance. u2022 Excellent analytical and organizational skills. u2022 Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders. u2022 Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
