Description u200bu200bu200bTheUndersea Systems Division (USD)at Leidos currently has an opening for a Test/Mechanical Engineer to work in our San Diego, CA office.TheUSDoperatesat the leading edge of technology by designing,demonstrating, and deploying solutions to solve complex remote sensing problems for our Department of Defense customers.u200bThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to system development and to gain experience for an individual with interest in maritime remote sensing, physics, sensors, systemprototyping, algorithm and software development, statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Our focus is to develop capabilities and deployable prototypes and transition those to our Defense business segment. u200b u200b Primary Responsibilities . u200bCandidate willbe responsible forapplying sound test engineering, mechanical engineering & design principles in the development of a HWIL systemcontainingmachined, structural, sheet metal, & u201ccommercial off the shelfu201dcomponentparts. Candidate willbe responsible forbill of material development, system documentation and verification andcomponentspecification for mechanical assemblies. Candidate must be able to apply sound mechanical test engineering processes, such as drawing production, configuration management, and integration and development of complex mechanical systems. u200b u200b Basic Qualifications. + u200bBachelor's degreein Mechanical or Aerospace Engineeringfrom an ABET-accredited university. + u200bCandidate must have a minimum of 2+ years of combined experience in mechanical component / Hardware in the Loop testing. + u200bProficiencyin finite element analysis (SolidWorks, FEMAP, Nastran, COMSOL), Machine Learning + u200bDemonstrated experience in the following areas: + u200bTest Procedure Development, Performance and Updates + u200bPerformance of System Testing Level Testing + u200bCAD based software such as SolidWorks + u200bAbility to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team; able to perform complex tasks applying engineering first principles. + u200bMust havestrong communication(written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. + u200bLead testing operations, reviews, run analysis, and define hardware test plans. + US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a TS clearance. u200b SUBSEAMSS If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
