Requirements Job Overview Senior Director of Classroom, Conference Room, and Shared Space Support, University Information Services - Georgetown University. This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all audiovisual (AV) and information technology systems within the universityu2019s academic, conference, and collaborative spaces. The Senior Director is responsible for the entire lifecycle of classroom and conference room technology, from initial design and installation to ongoing support, maintenance, and lifecycle replacement. This role ensures that faculty, students, and staff have access to reliable, innovative, and user-friendly technology that enhances the teaching, learning, and collaborative experience, directly supporting the university's academic mission. Duties include but are not limited to: + Develops and implements a strategic vision and technology roadmap for all classroom, conference room, and shared space AV and IT systems. + Leads and manages a team of AV engineers, technicians, and support specialists responsible for the daily operations and support of learning and meeting spaces. + Oversees the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new and upgraded AV/IT systems for capital projects and renovations. + Establishes and maintains service level agreements (SLAs), operational procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality support and system uptime. + Manages the departmental budget, including operational expenses, capital investments, and vendor contracts. + Collaborates with faculty, academic departments, and administrative units to understand their technological needs and ensure solutions meet pedagogical and business requirements. + Provides high-level technical support and event production services for major university events, conferences, and executive meetings. Work Interactions The Senior Director of Classroom, Conference Room, and Shared Space Support is a key leadership role within University Information Services (UIS), reporting to the Associate Vice President for Support Services. This position works collaboratively with senior leaders across UIS, Facilities Management, academic departments, and event planning offices to deliver integrated and seamless technology solutions. The Senior Director directly manages a team of managers and technical staff and is a primary point of contact for faculty and administrative leaders regarding technology in learning and meeting spaces. By ensuring the technological readiness and advancement of these critical spaces, this role is integral to supporting the university's commitment to academic excellence and its Jesuit values of educating the whole person. Requirements and Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in information technology, communications, or a related field. + 10+ years of progressive experience in audiovisual and information technology support, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity, preferably within a higher education environment. + Demonstrated expertise in the design, installation, and support of complex AV systems, including control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron), video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams), lecture capture, and digital signage. + Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to develop long-term technology roadmaps and manage complex projects from conception to completion. + Proven experience in budget management, vendor negotiation, and contract administration. + Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse technical team and build strong relationships with faculty, staff, and senior administrators. Preferred qualifications: + Masteru2019s degree in a relevant field. + Industry certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-D (Design), or PMP (Project Management Professional).
