Director of Nursing (DON) + Location: Buffalo, NY Position Overview The Director of Nursing (DON) serves as the clinical leader of the facility, responsible for the overall management, performance, and success of the nursing department. This role is both strategic and hands-on, ensuring the highest quality of resident care, maintaining full regulatory compliance, and developing a stable, high-performing nursing team. Compensation $120,000 u2013 $140,000 per year Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership + Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing care and clinical operations + Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory standards Team Management & Staffing + Supervise all nursing staff within the facility + Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and continued employment of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs + Ensure appropriate staffing levels and ongoing staff competency development + Foster staff engagement, accountability, and a supportive work environment + Monitor nursing employee conduct and performance Survey Readiness & Compliance + Maintain the facility in a continuous u201csurvey-readyu201d status + Lead preparation and response for Department of Health (DOH) and CMS audits + Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures Resident Care & Coordination + Assess and monitor the health needs of each resident + Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physicians, Rehab, Social Services, and Dietary + Implement individualized care plans, including for high-acuity residents (e.g., ventilator, dialysis, rehabilitation) Operational & Quality Oversight + Manage the nursing department budget, including staffing, supplies, and clinical equipment + Remain informed and responsive to all clinical incidents within the facility + Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives to improve outcomes and star ratings Candidate Requirements + Current, active, unencumbered RN license in New York State + Minimum 5 years of Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing experience + At least 2 years of supervisory or nursing leadership experience (DON or ADON preferred) + Demonstrated strong leadership, staff supervision, and team development skills + Working knowledge of DOH and CMS regulations, MDS processes, and reimbursement models About the Facility This skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility serves the Bronx community with comprehensive post-acute and long-term care services.
