Position Purpose: The Shredding Specialist Lead is responsible for receiving, segregating and loading wastepaper into a paper shredder as well as various traditional warehouse support duties. The Lead Shredding Specialist is a member of the local operations team who coordinates the parking of all trucks in preparation for the next day. The Lead Shredding Specialist must be a team player and contribute to a safe and harmonious work environment as a leader and an expert in their field. Key Job Activities: u2022 Unloads shredded paper, media, and products from Shred-itu2019s trucks at the assigned branch nightly. u2022 Reload trucks with specific equipment needed for the next dayu2019s assignment. u2022 Operates and maintains baling machinery at the branch. u2022 Ensures all paper bales are staged or loaded for shipment as required. u2022 Performs shredding operations in support of Shred-itu2019s off-site shredding program. u2022 Safeguards plant hardware and equipment by locking and activating security systems. u2022 Operates forklifts and performs preventative maintenance on forklifts as required. u2022 Maintains a clean and safe working area according to Shred-It and NAID standards. u2022 Ensures that all truck compartments and cabs are cleaned nightly in accordance with company guidelines. u2022 Performs weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance on all equipment. u2022 Maintains supplies for plant operations. u2022 Always maintain a responsible approach to all security and safety matters related to the operation of Shred-it following the companyu2019s policies and procedures bringing the manager's attention to any and all areas of concern. u2022 Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Experience: u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent. u2022 2+ Years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred. u2022 6+ Months experience as a certified forklift driver and basic maintenance is preferred. u2022 Valid Driveru2019s License required and a history of good driving records. u2022 Forklift Certification is preferred. u2022 Identifies major activities of, and services provided by, the operations function. u2022 Locates and interprets standard and management reports on plant activities. u2022 Describes characteristics of a well-run manufacturing plant.
