Pega Software Developer (REMOTE)

Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Pega Software Developer to join a development team supporting both established projects and building applications from the ground up. The Pega Software Developer will build software applications by writing code in Java and Javascript and will also learn the technology and methodology for building applications within the Pegau00ae platform. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to: u2022 Perform day-to-day administration of Pega 7.x, Tomcat and Linux development and test environments. u2022 Develop web applications following modern industry standards and best practices. u2022 Follow an object-oriented paradigm to maximize code reuse and flexibility. u2022 Leverage a cutting-edge technology platform to accelerate the pace of software development. u2022 Operate in an Agile software development environment while satisfying the governmentu2019s Waterfall-style project stage gates. u2022 Interact daily with system and business analysts to clarify requirements. u2022 Receive guidance from lead architect on design and implementation tasks to complete. u2022 Receive feedback from lead architect on completed tasks, including items requiring correction or improvement. u2022 Collaborate among cross-functional technical teams to reconcile new business requirements with the integration of legacy systems. u2022 Contribute to technical designs, including detailed data flows and data schemas. Education and Experience: Required: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university + 2+ years of Pega Development experience. Preferred: + 1- 2 years of experience as a Java software developer/engineer. + Pega Certified System Architect (CSA). Required Skills and Competencies: + Exceptional communication skills in English u2013 both written and oral u2013 and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical IT stakeholders. + Ability to work in a team environment under the direction of a technical lead. + Solid Object-Oriented coding experience using Java, Python, C# or C++. + Experience with web application architectures and Model-View-Controller design pattern. + Experience with User Interface (UI) code manually reading and writing Javascript, HTML and CSS (specifically HTML5 and CSS3 + Strong Object-Oriented design skills. + Solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL. + Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using SOAP and REST. + Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology, especially Scrum. Desired Skills and Competencies: + Experience using Pega 7.2.1 or later. + Experience working in a federal government IT environment. + Knowledge of single sign-on (SSO) concepts using SAML and OAuth2. + Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. + Knowledge of PKI certificates and SSL/TLS standards, ciphers and configurations.
