Job Description: The Forklift Operator will transport incomingfreight to inventory from staging areas for storage in the appropriateslots, on the multi-level racks in the assigned warehouse area andreplenish / re-stock pick slots in a timely manner ensuring all safety,Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards are met and tomaintain the efficient flow of the production process. Functions as ateam member within the department and organization, as required, andperform any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities:Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures percompany guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafeconditions and/or acts immediately. Review work schedule, perform safetycheck on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work andprepare for operations. Put on all required Personal ProtectiveEquipment and Safety Gear. Meet required productivity and accuracystandards per location and company guidelines. Work from receivingsheets, computer print-out, established procedures and practices,written and /or verbal instructions. Locate and perform count check ofincoming freight in the staging area and transport to freezer withforklift / pallet jack. Inspect items for damage, perform temperatureand quality checks and take appropriate action as needed. Locate properslot on storage racks, set pallets in place with forklift or hand stackitems, enter product data and location into RF unit. Replenish pickslots with outgoing stock items according to next day's work orders.Rotate date-sensitive stock to the front of the rack and / or remove outdated out of date inventory according to company policy. Disperseover-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage. Removeempty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area orreceptacles. Inspect empty pallets for damage, stack and move palletswith pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area. Perform generalhousekeeping duties in work area as needed. Remove batteries requiringrecharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicleinspection checklist. Perform other similar duties as requested orassigned by supervisor. At the end of the shift secure all equipment andcomplete all necessary paperwork. Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 7am -4:30pm or until work is complete overtime Qualifications: High schooldiploma/GED Previous forklift experience Schedule: Sunday thru Thursday7am - 4:30pm or until work complete overtime Preferred qualifications:1-2 years warehouse and/or distribution work experience Foodservicedistribution or related industry experience 6+ months experienceoperating a forklift and/or pallet jack HiLo Forklift experience
