Embedded Software Engineer

Payrate: $ - $ Summary: Real world FPGA experience is key requirement. Real world HDL and synthesis experience must be demonstrated on resume. Secondarily, experience with control software design patterns and anti-patterns, ANSI C, and other programming languages, version management tools, and software development processes such as Agile. Experience designing embedded electronics controls, display, or telematics software, including development of FPGA HDL & synthesis, device drivers, SPI/IC peripheral interfacing, hardware diagnostics, operating system configurations, non-volatile memory interfacing, board initialization, and other chip-level interfacing. Design, develop, test, and evaluate embedded solutions for electronic systems Work on ASICs, FPGA, hardware-level software, compilers, and network distribution software Support applications across industrial, aerospace, medical, military, communications, and computing domains Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, and test low-layer software including FPGA HDL, I/O drivers, OS integration, and boot software Develop FPGA design/layout and low-level software interfacing with Company electronic control hardware (ECU/ECMs) Apply electrical engineering and computer science principles to embedded system solutions Conceptualize, design, test, document, and promote new software features and processes Perform requirements analysis and decomposition Evaluate new programming languages, development tools, and engineering processes Perform product maintenance and manage the software lifecycle Maintain version control and configuration management Stay current with emerging technologies and develop new solutions Communicate technical information to customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams Support and advise engineers, managers, marketing, customers, and suppliers Qualifications: Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Minimum BS in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / similar required & - yrs industry experience. Will accept Master's or higher relevant internship/project experience toward minimum. Desired Skills: Mastery of HDL design and synthesis flow from specification through place-and-route Proficiency in embedded software development, tools, and processes Strong experience with requirements gathering, functional specifications, development, testing, and delivery Extensive knowledge of embedded computer hardware Solid programming experience in C or C++ Ability to read and interpret schematics and component data sheets Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system-level debugging skills Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the is: $ - $ /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
