Summary Reports to the Group Practice Manager and Director for administrative supervision and a physician designee for clinical supervision. Responsible for the coordination, delivery of psychological services, and program development. Responsible for delivery of psychological services and testing to the pediatric patient population from the ages of birth to 18 years old. Coordinates and delivers psychological services to patients/patient families by: Working within the approved scope of practice as designated for a clinical psychologist. Perform comprehensive psychological assessments, including psychological testing. Developing behavioral treatment plans for patients. Assisting the department team in triaging and prioritizing the referrals for psycho-social and other psychological needs. Comprehensive psychological assessment, testing, and treatment for patients with complex medical and psychological diagnoses. Working with the multidisciplinary pediatric team when necessary to help coordinate the best possible care for a patient with multiple medical and psychological needs. Help to plan and develop some patient support groups for some diagnoses. Acting as a resource for associates and physicians by: Collaborating with providers regarding professional concerns about patients. Assisting with the coordination of research and other scholarly efforts of the department as necessary. Working as a resource to the department's Social Worker and staff as needed. Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by: Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES The associate complies with the following organizational requirements: Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department-specific education within established timeframes. Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. Maintains a license/certification, and registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year. Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect the patient and self. Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. Complies with established organization and department policies. Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. Education and Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the completion of a Doctorate degree in Psychology. Preference will be given to a person who has worked in a medical setting, and is familiar with working with children with complex medical conditions; or a psychologist familiar with neurodevelopmental, autistic child behavioral techniques, and the ability or experience working with children of all ages, and who have a variety of complex medical and psychological needs. Knowledge & Skills Demonstrates administrative/analytical skills to plan, design and help build the psychological services at BMG Behavior Health. Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of hospital staff and patients and families. Demonstrate ability and knowledge of medical research methods. Demonstrates the ability to work with patients and their families who have complex medical conditions that can cause psychological concerns. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to perform advanced psychological assessments and document the reports of such assessments. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to perform psychological testing. Requires the ability to perform charting and documentation on the EMR system successfully, and working with the trainers to customize templates and needs to do this.
