The incumbent is responsible for greeting guests, opening doors, transporting luggage, providing information about the hotel, responding to guest requests, and directing guests. They are to provide the highest level of service in support of the mission, core values, standards and goals established by the company.Load and unload luggage cartsOrganize and deliver luggage for tour groupsEscort guests to rooms and familiarize them with hotel servicesInspect guest’s room to ensure it is in order and that supplies are adequateExplain features of the room including operation of electronic devices and entertainmentCheck/store luggage for arrivals and departures with luggage tagsStore, track, and deliver packages as neededDeliver messages to meeting roomsDeliver flowers, laundry, packages and other amenities to guestroomsAssist with room changesMaintain current listing of local and area attractions, special events and activitiesMaintain list of local transportation guides, churches, sports arenas, etcAssist Houseperson with guest requestsEnsure lobby reader board is correctProvide information, maps and directions as requiredWhere applicable answer console to assist front desk agentsShow guestrooms and suites as needed and emphasize the hotel’s amenitiesPerform other duties as requested by managementAbility to perform all bell-related tasks and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems and office equipmentAbility to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgement and effectively solve problemsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manualsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsHigh school diploma or General Education degree - requiredMinimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in similar scope and title - requiredExperience within luxury brand/markets - requiredStudent or graduate of hotel management - preferredKnowledge of local area - preferredMust be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office, as well as working in inclement weather conditionsMust be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaborationSchedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess or less than 40 hours with or without noticeWhile performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, stoop, bend, crouch, and stand up to 8 hours on a daily basisPush, pull, and lift up to 50 lbsWhile performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time
