Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Manager MANDATORY RECENT AEROSPACE EXPERIENCE Job Description The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities in compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role ensures accurate material receipt, storage, handling, documentation, and shipment of aerospace components and assemblies while maintaining strict adherence to AS9100, FAA, ITAR/EAR, and customer-specific requirements. The position plays a critical role in preserving product integrity, traceability, and on-time delivery performance. Responsibilities + Ensure full compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001, ITAR/EAR, and applicable customer, contractual, and governmental requirements, focusing on material traceability, lot control, serialization, and configuration management from receipt through shipment. + Align shipping and receiving processes with internal Quality Management System procedures. + Handle and segregate controlled, classified, and export-restricted materials properly. + Manage all inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials, production hardware, tooling, repairables, and finished aerospace products. + Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, drawings, certificates of conformance (CoC), and inspection requirements. + Ensure outbound shipments meet customer requirements for packaging, labeling, preservation, and documentation. + Oversee preparation and review of shipping documents, including packing lists, CoCs, air waybills, commercial invoices, and export documentation. + Coordinate domestic and international shipments with approved carriers and freight forwarders. + Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities. + Ensure proper storage, environmental controls, and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention practices. + Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to resolve material discrepancies, nonconformances, and shortages. + Supervise and train shipping and receiving personnel on compliance, safety, and aerospace best practices. + Establish and monitor KPIs related to on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, damage rates, and compliance metrics. + Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Program Management, and Production to support operational goals. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance. + Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and hazardous material handling requirements. + Implement risk mitigation strategies related to material handling, export compliance, and shipment integrity. Essential Skills + 5+ years of shipping/receiving or logistics experience in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment. + Demonstrated working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR/EAR, and aerospace documentation requirements. + Proven leadership experience managing warehouse or logistics teams. + Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations. + Close attention to detail with a strong compliance and documentation mindset. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience supporting government or defense aerospace programs. + Prior audit participation with customers, registrars, or regulatory bodies. + Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
