This position is responsible for managing traffic flow, directing patrons to designated parking areas, and providing clear, courteous assistance to guests while maintaining a safe and orderly parking environment. Parking Attendants serve as ambassadors for Rupp Arena and Central Bank Center, often being the first and last point of contact for guests. Parking Attendants are expected to operate assigned equipment, including traffic control devices and handheld tools, in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. Attention to detail and accountability are essential, as equipment use and condition may be tracked to ensure operational readiness. In addition to traffic and parking control, Parking Attendants are responsible for monitoring parking areas for safety hazards, policy compliance, and accessibility needs. This includes ensuring accessible parking spaces and pedestrian pathways remain clear and usable, particularly during high-volume events or inclement weather. Attendants may also assist with basic incident reporting, communicate issues to supervisors or management, and follow established protocols for emergencies, accidents, or guest concerns. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this role, as Parking Attendants regularly interact with a diverse range of guests, coworkers, law enforcement, and event staff. The position requires the ability to remain professional, calm, and adaptable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while working outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
