Cardiac Universal Bed Unit u2013 22 bed unit u2022 Mixed acuity unit with progressive care population u2022 Heart of hearts unit specializing in cardiac care and services u2022 Innovative team using evidence-based practice to support nursing autonomy and workflow u2022 Growth opportunities for all levels of nursing WHAT YOUu2019LL DO:Your day-to-day impact includes: u00b7 Collecting and recording essential patient data u2013 vitals, food and fluid intake/output, and more u2013 with precision and care. u00b7 Responding to patient needs and partnering with RNs to ensure maximum comfort and safety. u00b7 Noticing the little changes that can make a big difference u2013 and reporting them promptly. u00b7 Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go. u00b7 Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post-pacemaker procedures. u00b7 Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results. u00b7 Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene. u00b7 Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures. u00b7 Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients u2014 from pediatrics to geriatrics. u00b7 Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction. u00b7 Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care. Qualifications - External EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: To qualify, youu2019ll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: + Current nursing student who has minimally completed two semesters or has graduated from a Registered Nurse program + Graduate of an LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program + Certified in Phlebotomy + Previous Clinical Tech experience Also required: + Strong communication and problem-solving skills + Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations + Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required) CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: + Valid BLS certification (or must be obtained during Patient Care Orientation) Additional Information + Organization: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital + Department: Cardiovacular ICU + Shift: Variable + Union Code: Not Applicable Additional Details This posting represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.
