Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. u2022 Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze balances to maintain accuracy and compliance with established policies. u2022 Prepare and review financial statements, providing insights into trends, variances, and potential issues. u2022 Develop and maintain detailed financial, costing, and operational reports to support organizational decision-making. u2022 Conduct complex bank and account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring resolution. u2022 Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. u2022 Manage fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation to the general ledger. u2022 Contribute to process improvements and the documentation of accounting procedures to enhance workflow efficiency. u2022 Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis to support financial performance tracking. u2022 Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure reliable financial information and compliance. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management and financial close processes. u2022 Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including variance analysis and trend identification. u2022 Experience with sales and use tax filings, fixed asset accounting, and reconciliation processes. u2022 Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as policy and procedure development. u2022 Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. u2022 Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Avalara, and Vertex Sales & Use Tax.
