Anglin Consulting Group is seeking a Journeyman FOIA Contractor to perform mid-level FOIA processing with minimal supervision for a federal government agency. The Journeyman FOIA Contractor will review and interpret FOIA requests, conduct or validate searches for responsive records, apply exemptions, prepare releasable records, and ensure responses meet statutory and agency requirements. This position provides technical accuracy, consistency, and support to junior staff while contributing to efficient workflow management and quality FOIA production.ResponsibilitiesPerform mid-level FOIA processing with minimal supervision, including reviewing and interpreting FOIA requestsDetermine tasking and search requirements for assigned FOIA requestsConduct or validate searches for responsive records across agency systems and officesApply FOIA exemptions and redactions accurately using redaction softwareDocument exemption decisions and prepare releasable records for Government reviewDraft clear, professional responses and summaries for FOIA requestersEnsure all responses meet statutory requirements under 5 U.S.C. 552 and agency policySupport junior staff with technical guidance and quality reviewProcess Simple, Complex, Expedited, and Backlogged FOIA requestsManage rolling releases at a minimum of 500 pages per week per active requestRespond to fee waiver and expedited processing requests within 10 calendar daysParticipate in daily FOIA team updates, meetings, and bi-weekly FOIA sessionsMaintain accurate records within the agency's FOIA system and FOIA Request TrackerComplete all required FOIA-specific training and maintain training logsSupport optional tasks including Chief FOIA Officer's Annual Report, DOJ Quarterly Reports, and FOIA Annual Report to Congress as directedMinimum QualificationsAssociate degree (additional FOIA experience may substitute for degree requirements)Two (2) years of FOIA request processing experience within the last 36 monthsComprehensive knowledge of FOIA exemptions, request types, timelines, and fee categoriesAbility to analyze and interpret FOIA requests and determine tasking and search requirementsSkilled in conducting or validating searches for responsive recordsProficient in applying redaction software accurately and documenting exemption decisionsStrong written communication skills for drafting responses and summaries[]{.flex}
