Job Summary: u00a0 Theu00a0 Assessment Specialist u00a0is a member of the POWERu00a0 Central Intake u00a0team . This role provides critical alcohol and drug assessment and referral services to our clients at our Swissvale PA campus and in the community. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with regular travel throughout Allegheny county to client homes on a frequent basis. The Assessment Specialist will skillfully complete assessments, maintaining a high level of dignity and respect while upholding POWERu2019s mission to be gender-responsive and trauma-informed. u00a0This role requires frequent travel, a reliable vehicle and motor vehicle insurance. u00a0 Key Responsibilities u00a0 u00a0 + Collect and review referral information upon assignment of clients from the referral source and consult with other involved professionals as needed to support coordination of services and scheduling of client interviews . + Conduct screening interviews tou00a0 determine u00a0the need for a drug and alcohol assessmentu00a0 and for emergent u00a0care services in the specific areas of detoxification, prenatal care, and psychiatric care .u00a0u00a0 Make referrals tou00a0 appropriate health u00a0and human services agencies as needed based on the outcome of the screening interview. u00a0 + Coordi nate with the Intake Team u00a0as needed to callu00a0 client u00a0or sendu00a0 email u00a0reminder to confirm appointment date, time, and location of the assessment. u00a0 + Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and u00a0trauma-informed, utilizingu00a0 ASAM u00a0criteria tou00a0 determine u00a0theu00a0 appropriate level u00a0of care. Assessments may be conducted in the community or at a POWER facility. u00a0u00a0 + Collect information from collateral resources to aid inu00a0 determining u00a0diagnosis and need for treatment . u00a0 + Based on the assessments, make referrals to the mostu00a0 appropriate programs u00a0and agenciesu00a0 in an effort to u00a0help clients access the right level of care to best meet their treatment needs. u00a0 + As a member of the POWERu00a0 Central Intake u00a0team, using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach works collaboratively with clients and other treatment team members (internal and external) to help support clients in their treatment and recovery. u00a0 + W ork closely with clients to engage them in the decision-making process and help them understand the benefits of the assessment and accessing theu00a0 appropriate level u00a0of care asu00a0 indicated . u00a0 + Assist u00a0clients with scheduling an admission or first appointment date at the program or facility that they are referred to.u00a0 u00a0 + Provide s transportation for direct admission into a level of care at the time of the assessment, as needed . u00a0 + Monitor client access to and involvement with treatment and other providers to help address barriers to treatment and the recovery process. Follow up with client within seven days of referral to assess process andu00a0 clientu2019s u00a0satisfaction with adjusting to the program.u00a0 u00a0 + Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, Mentors, family members, and others to help support clients in their recovery.u00a0 u00a0 + Ifu00a0 client u00a0is admitted to one of POWERu2019s programsu00a0 as a result of u00a0the screening and assessment, coordinate the admission and intake with theu00a0 appropriate POWER u00a0staff to ensureu00a0 a timely u00a0and smooth transition into treatment for the client .u00a0u00a0 Ifu00a0 client u00a0is referred to a program of another agency, forwar d screening,u00a0 assessment u00a0andu00a0 ASAM u00a0Summary Sheet, andu00a0 required u00a0consents, to the agency that the client is being referred to. u00a0 + Ifu00a0 client u00a0does not keepu00a0 assessment u00a0appointment, follow up withu00a0 client u00a0by phone,u00a0 mail u00a0or email; offer to reschedule the appointment. u00a0 + Work cooperatively with the legal system to ensure coordination of services including Court appearances whenu00a0 appropriate . u00a0 + Complete paperwork requirements andu00a0 maintain u00a0quality, up-to-date clinicalu00a0 records; u00a0including Outcomes Survey information and information foru00a0 invoicing for u00a0services .u00a0u00a0 Enter necessary information into POWERu2019s database/EMR system. u00a0 + Consult with supervisor and/or POWERu2019s psychiatrist as needed. u00a0 + Be knowledgeable about other drug and alcohol treatment agencies and programs andu00a0 maintain u00a0list of resources that can be shared with clients u00a0 + Comply with i nternal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards; including, all of POWERu2019s policies and procedur es and Quality Assurance Plan, D DAP requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulations. u00a0 + P articipate in all staff development and training asu00a0 required . u00a0 + Participate in assigned meetings, staffu00a0 development u00a0andu00a0 trainings . u00a0 + Provide back-upu00a0 assistance u00a0to Therapists with group therapy and psycho-educationu00a0 groups u00a0as necessary. u00a0 Minimum Qualifications u00a0 u00a0 + Bachelor Degree in Social Work , Counseling, or related field. u00a0 + Masteru2019s degree in Social Work , Counseling or related preferred. u00a0 + Valid driveru2019s license with a clean driving record + Personal vehicle available for work-related travel + Current registration and insurance for personal vehicle + Act 73, 33 and 34 clearances Skills and Competencies u00a0 + Experience in a women-centered treatment environment or with gender-responsive care preferred. u00a0 + Experience with trauma-informedu00a0 services; u00a0cognitive behavioral therapies, includingu00a0 DBT; u00a0and motivationalu00a0 therapies u00a0including the use of incentives, preferred. u00a0 + Personal recovery experienceu00a0 not u00a0 required, u00a0however, knowledge of recovery support systems and 12-Step programs preferred. u00a0 + Strong interpersonal and engagement skills . u00a0 + Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information with integrity. + Strong organizational and time-management skills . u00a0 + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. u00a0 + Excellent customer service. u00a0 + Strongu00a0 information technology skills with a high level of proficieny with Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint and capability to navigate the Electronic Medical Record + Self-directed and flexible; ability to manage multiple priorities at once. + Model and support clients and staff in health and wellness activitiesu00a0 and with u00a0using healthy coping skills. u00a0 + Support organizationu2019s mission with a sensitivity of cultural diversity and workplace harmony. u00a0 Working Conditions u00a0 u00a0 + Full-time exempt position + Working on location at POWERu2019s campus in Swissvale, PA and travel to clientu2019s homes or other locations in the community. + Frequent driving and travel required.u00a0 + Ability to work the hours necessary to complete the work. u00a0 Reasons to Choose POWER: Full time positions offer a comprehensive benefit package including: + Medical/Rx + Dental + Visionu00a0 + Life Insurance + Long term disabilityu00a0 + 401k) with employer match + educational reimbursement benefits + Additional voluntary benefits including short term disability and pet insurance + A strong commitment to professional development + FREE on site campus parking + FREE coffee every day.
