Eastman Kodak is looking to hire Apprentices to support our growing Kodak Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY. As an AE Mechanic Apprentice you will learn to troubleshoot and mechanical, electrical, robotics, pneumatic and hydraulic types of sophisticated machines that are used in all types of manufacturing. As an AEM Mechanic Apprentice, you will receive competitive pay and benefits with incremental increases over the course of the 4-year program as you achieve set milestones. The current rate for graduating Apprentices is $30.00 per hour. You will work directly with a Journeyman, (a highly skilled E-M Tech) for on-the-job training and receive company paid schooling and tool allowance to meet the New York State Department of Labor Certification requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Ensure that a safe work environment is maintained. u2022 Work with a skilled journeyman while training as an AE Mechanic. u2022 Update your Apprentice Training Record book daily to record your work as it relates to the required on-the-job training. u2022 Must have a desire to learn. u2022 Attend classes that relate to your trade as required (typically 2 per year) and receive a satisfactory grade. u2022 Learn to maintain maintenance records and exchange information with others as necessary. u2022 Learn to communicate with operators, mechanics, supervisors, and engineers on equipment status and path forward. u2022 Must be willing to occasionally work extended hours if necessary to meet deadlines or to ensure resolution of plant problems. u2022 Dependable, reliable, committed and responsible. REQUIRED SKILLS: u2022 High school graduate. u2022 Ability to maintain a safe work environment. u2022 Ability to develop good trouble shooting skills. u2022 Ability to develop computer skills. u2022 Proactive and self-directed. u2022 Effective working individually or as part of a team. u2022 Fluent in English, both written and verbal. DESIRED SKILLS: u2022 Demonstrated electrical or mechanical skills through MCC, WEMOCO or equivalent experience.
