Work Shift: Day Shift Time Type: Full time Department: CC014060 Cardiac Cath Lab Summary: Full Time, 10K Sign On Bonus, Monday-Friday 7-3:30pm The Cardiac Cath Technologist will assist the Cardiologist with Invasive procedures in the Cath Lab setting. The applicant must be able to perform in emergent life-threatening situations with proficiency. The Cath Lab Technologist will assist with scrubbing, circulating, and hemodynamic monitoring of the patient. The Cath Lab Technologist will take call. Additional Information: Full Time 10K Sign On Bonus Monday-Friday 7-3:30pm Required Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma Recommended Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Work Experience: Recommended Work Experience: Related Field - 1 year of experience Required Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Must obtain within 12 months of hire - ARRT, Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health Recommended Certifications: Registered Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) (Registry) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Description 1. Assists Cardiologist during cardiac catheterization and Electrophysiology procedures wearing lead apron for radiation protection during all procedures. 2. Performs Hemodynamic monitoring of the patient during procedures. 3. Scrubs in and assists the Cardiologist during invasive procedures and circulates during procedures using proper sterile techniques. 4. Utilizes all radiographic, hemodynamic, electrophysiology, laboratory and emergency equipment properly and is trained and able to respond appropriately in emergency situations. 5. Proficient in sending images workstation and PACS. 6. Screens patients with attention to pregnancy, allergy, contrast, and any other contraindications, Explains procedures to patients and families in an effective manner. 7. Utilizes immobilization devices (sandbags, tape, head holders, etc.) to control patient movement. 8. Utilizes effective collimation and shielding to reduce radiation exposure to patient and staff. 9. Calibrates and cleans equipment to manufacturer's specification and monitors for malfunctions and makes adjustments or requests service as needed. Notifies supervisor of major equipment problems. 10. Transports and/or escorts patients as needed. 11. Enters charges daily in Meditech system. 12. Inventories and maintains adequate levels of supplies. 13. Logs all patient information in log books. 14. Performs ther duties as assigned.
