Want to directly influence the future of some of the most successful products in cloud services? u200bJoin us at AWS Finance AWS Service Finance is looking for a Finance Manager to support capacity utilization in the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) business. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise, government and start-up business and organizations in over 190 countries around the world. Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services officially began offering developer customers access to web services u2013 now widely known as cloud computing u2013 based on Amazonu2019s own back-end technology platform. AWS EC2 Capacity Finance seeks a Finance Manager to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with key business partners to drive planning and controllership on EC2 Capacity Utilization goal. Key job responsibilities Some key responsibilities will include: - Taking the lead in EC2 utilization planning and analysis; building complex financial models which involve large data set and analytical tools to set and track overall financial performance against goals. - Closely partner with EC2 business team to drive capacity efficiency improvement and utilization goal. - Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable solutions to support business growth A day in the life This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experiencePreferred Qualifications- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
