HospitalistMUSC Health - Florence, South CarolinaResponsibilities include: Managing the clinical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized patients; providing excellent patient care, performing physical exams, updating patient records and studying medical histories; Providing diagnostic, preventative and therapeutic health services to patients and family members in the hospital; Evaluating and treating patients in consultation as the primary attending physician; Coordinating the hospitals diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative resources; Following through on cases to ensure effectiveness and alter the course of treatment as indicated; Reviewing and interpreting medical test results; Responding to questions and concerns from patients about their health; Discussing proper nutrition and self-care with patients to promote good health; Working with various medical staff (surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists) to provide patient care.Minimum requirements:MD degree in internal medicine and completion of 3 years of residency training in internal medicine.Must be eligible for South Carolina medical license and eligible for Board Certification in internal medicine.
