N Position Type Management Pay Range: $81,000-$113,000 annually Bonus Eligible: Y JOB SUMMARY Manages rooms and function space inventory and ensures inventory is allocated and restricted properly to maximize revenue and profits. Responsible for building all rates, packages and hotel sales strategy information in the hotel(s)u2019 inventory systems. The position recommends pricing and positioning of cluster properties. In addition, the position oversees the inventory management system to verify appropriateness of agreed upon selling strategies. Responsible for the analysis of revenue, profit and demand associated with hotel rooms and space inventory in a given market or cluster. Position prepares forecasts, budgets, weekly and daily projections and analyzes the progress of each. Position critiques sales strategy effectiveness and prepares historical and future analysis of revenue and profit opportunities CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience u2022 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years experience in the revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area. OR u2022 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year experience in the revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Executing Revenue Management Projects and Strategy u2022 Manages room authorizations, rates and restrictions. u2022 Manages function space authorizations, restrictions and rental. u2022 Manages rooms inventory to maximize cluster rooms revenue. u2022 Maintains the transient rooms inventory for the hotel(s) and responsible for maximizing transient revenue. u2022 Releases group rooms back into general inventory and ensures clean booking windows for customers u2022 Ensures that the hotel(s) sales strategies are effectively implemented in the reservation system and the inventory system. u2022 Prepares sales strategy critique. u2022 Monitors transient and group inventory daily to ensure straight-line availability and maximization of revenue potential for all brands. u2022 Ensures that sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate. u2022 Supports cluster selling initiatives by working with all reservation centers. u2022 Uses reservations system and demand forecasting systems to determine, implement and control selling strategies. u2022 Ensures property diagnostic processes (PDP) are used to maximize revenue and profits. u2022 Initiates, implements and evaluates revenue tests. u2022 Provides recommendations to improve effectiveness of revenue management processes. u2022 Ensures compliance and participation in company promotions and eCommerce channels u2022 Ensures all hotels follow brand strategies that will maintain and/or increase the hotel(s) revenue per available room (RevPAR) and revenue per available square foot (RevPAS). u2022 Understands the working relationship between sales, reservations and property management systems. u2022 Participates in quarterly regional reviews u2022 Promotes and protects brand equity. u2022 Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc. u2022 Attends meetings to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate and manage activities and solutions. u2022 Establishes long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them. u2022 Takes a predetermined strategy and drives the execution of that strategy. u2022 Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes. u2022 Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests, etc.). u2022 Explores opportunities that drive profit, create value for clients, and encourage innovation; challenges existing processes/systems/products to make improvements. Analyzing and Reporting Revenue Management Data u2022 Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales. u2022 Creates long range forecast for rooms and catering by segment and updates forecast every period. u2022 Creates weekly forecast for property operations and staffing purposes u2022 Conducts sales strategy analysis and refines as appropriate to increase market share for all properties. u2022 Maintains accurate reservation system information. u2022 Analyzes period end and other available systems data to identify trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals. u2022 Generates updates on transient segment each period. u2022 Assists with account diagnostics process and validates conclusions. u2022 Provides revenue analysis functional expertise to general managers, property leadership teams and market sales leaders. u2022 Prepares forecasts of revenue, profit, demand and occupancy for rooms and function space u2013 three-month and six month, long range and budget. u2022 Prepares revenue and profit opportunity analysis. u2022 Manages all revenue, profit and demand data associated with rooms and function space u2022 Develops and/or uses analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit. u2022 Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts. u2022 Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. u2022 Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information. u2022 Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. Building Successful Relationships u2022 Develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships in a proactive manner. u2022 Acts as a liaison, when necessary, between property and regional/corporate systems support. _At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
