Department Hiring Rate: $15.00/hour Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: + Assists with the planning and implementation of programs including sports competitions, senior recreation, fitness, skate park, therapeutic recreation, and special events. + Provides oversight and direction of program participants and volunteers, monitors events, programs, participants, and spectators. + Performs administrative duties including answering phones, responding to patrons, completing forms, setting up and breaking down necessary equipment, etc. + Maintains facility order and cleanliness. + Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance. + Enforces facility rules and entrance requirements + This position requires excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with and contribute to the growth and development of diverse citizen groups. + Ability to see, hear, stand/walk for extended periods of time, lift from ground to above shoulder, climb, bend, stoop, sit, push, pull, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and utilize telephone communications Education/Experience + Requires level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency, graduation from high school or equivalent preferred. + Some experience working in a customer service setting or experience working with children/youth in a recreation, athletics, fitness, aquatics, education setting preferred. + CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred. + This position requires excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with and contribute to the growth and development of diverse citizen groups. + Ability to see, hear, stand/walk for extended periods of time, lift from ground to above shoulder, climb, bend, stoop, sit, push, pull, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and utilize telephone communications Additional Information & Requirements The preferred candidate will possess: + A Valid Driveru2019s License. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. If you are hired January 1, 2022, or after to a position with Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits, you will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of your salary toward your retirement benefit.
