Summary of Position: The P&C Operations Manager oversees day-to-day operations of the People and Culture Team and ensures the smooth implementation of benefits administration, learning and development, and employee onboarding processes and procedures. The Operations Manager supervises the P&C Operations Associates. Major Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and oversee day-to-day P&C operations including compliance, benefits, learning and developmentManage and oversee employee onboarding and offboarding for all employee populationsManage the administration of benefits programs, ensuring alignment with organizational budgets and equity standardsOversee and manage the day-to-day administration of leaves for all employee populationsProvide organization wide support in answering requests regarding benefits, and leavesLeading initiatives, project management and coordinating special projects related to People and Culture Vendor management to support key business processes and audit reconciliationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of any changesSupport the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback processesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law, regulatory changes, and best practices in HR managementEnsure accurate reporting and documentation for audits, legal compliance, and organizational assessmentsCollaborate with the leadership team to ensure organizational values and culture are integrated into daily operationsRequired Qualification, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelors degree required; HR concentration or Masters degree preferredHR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)5-7 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or related fields required.3-5 years of managerial experience requiredDemonstrated knowledge of HR best practices, including business acumen, benefits administration, employment law, and HR-related organizational risk management Strong data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skillsExperience with HR technologies (HRIS, ATS, etc.) and data analysis with experience in ADP strongly preferred Proficient with other Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ExcelStrong organizational skills, while managing multiple high-volume projects with deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills to build relationships and facilitate difficult conversations, professional demeanor and verbal communicationClear and precise writing skills for drafting policies and correspondenceCommitment to EEO principles, diversity, and inclusion requiredCompensation: $81,000 salary depending on education and experienceAbout Us: After School Matters is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that annually offers after-school and summer programs to nearly 19,000 Chicago high school teens to explore and develop their talents while gaining critical skills that will set them up for success in college and beyond.
