As National Park Trust enters its next phase of growth and fundraising, were investing in clearer storytelling, sharper messaging, and more confident communication — ensuring our impact is understood, felt, and supported by donors, partners, and communities nationwide.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to help shape how our organization tells its story — and to translate that story into increased awareness, engagement, and support from donors and partners.This is a hands-on, manager-level role for a strong writer and storyteller who can take strategic direction, bring it to life across channels, and contribute original ideas and creative energy. Youll work closely with leadership to apply a clear messaging framework and build on the Park Trusts existing momentum, helping evolve how the brand shows up as the organization this role, youll take day-to-day ownership of core communications channels (including social, email, web, and press), in close collaboration with leadership, ensuring the Trusts impact is communicated clearly, consistently, and in ways that inspire people to get involved. You will play an important part in supporting fundraising and partner engagement through clear, compelling communications.This role offers the chance to work creatively across channels — from social media and email to events and campaigns — and is ideal for someone energized by storytelling, passionate about parks, and motivated by building long-term care for the land.This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level communications professional to step into greater responsibility, sharpen their storytelling skills, and help grow a mission-driven brand at a pivotal moment.Detailed Position DescriptionMessaging & Storytelling Execute the Trusts messaging framework across key touchpoints, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong narrative through-linesWrite and edit compelling content that clearly communicates the “so what?? — why NPTs work matters and how supporter engagement makes a positive impactTranslate programs, land protection wins, and youth engagement into donor- and partner-ready storiesSupport donor cultivation and stewardship by tailoring stories for fundraising campaigns, partner communications, and stewardship touchpoints Content & Campaign ExecutionLead editorial planning across social media, email, and online articles/contentWrite and edit high-quality copy, including press releases, articles, email campaigns, donor communications, monthly newsletters, and campaign contentEnd-to-end management of campaigns, from planning to execution and analysis Support basic design for development events and programs, including emails, invitations, flyers, and other digital materialsSupport content capture at events and programs, including photography and short-form videoMaintain and organize photo and video libraries for ongoing useSocial MediaManage and craft social media content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, others as appropriate)Create and publish short-form video content (ie. Reels, TikToks) and simple visual assets using tools like Canva or similarActively listen, respond, and engage our audience on social media platforms, looking for opportunities to insert our mission into relevant conversations in a thoughtful and professional wayMonitor content performance and analytics to inform future messaging decisionsFocus on quality, mission-aligned content rather than volume, and prioritize platforms based on audience and capacityCollaboration & Process Work closely with development, programs, and leadership to surface strong stories and timely contentCollaborate with external consultants and creative partners as neededManage timelines and priorities across multiple content streamsHelp steward National Park Trust brand by ensuring tone, voice, and visual consistency across all public-facing materials Who You Are:Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university3-5 years of experience in communications, content, or marketing A strong storyteller and writer who understands how to make an impact compelling for donorsExperience supporting or managing content calendars and editorial workflowsComfortable taking direction and confident offering ideas and POVAssertive, thoughtful, and collaborativeOrganized, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects at onceComfortable working in the office and attending events to capture content when neededPassion for parks, conservation, education, and/or youth engagementSkills & Experience:Excellent writing and editing skills across formats (web, email, social, press)Experience supporting or managing social media channelsBasic photography and video capture/editing skills (or strong interest in learning)Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, and Google AnalyticsStrong attention to detail and follow-throughNice to Have:Experience working in or alongside a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, especially in fundraising or donor communicationsFamiliarity with SEO and AEO best practices, and how content supports discoverability and long-term visibilityExperience translating impact data or program outcomes into compelling stories for donor or public audiencesComfort collaborating with development or fundraising teams on campaigns and appealsBasic analytics experience (ie, Google Analytics, social insights, email reporting) to inform messaging decisionsSpecial Requirements:Due to our work with kids and families:All staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
