Job Description

Build the systems that keep America moving From the first mile to the last, Siemens has helped power U.S. infrastructure, electrification, and transportation for more than 160 years. Our rail systems must do one thing above all: run. We make that happen with smart maintenance, rapid parts supply, and modernization that delivers reliability and availability—what we call 100% Railability. We’re Great Place to Work? certified and we’re looking for an Electromechanical Production Assembler who’s energized by precision, quality, and teamwork. A day in your life You start your shift reviewing build plans and schematics for the day’s units. You gather materials based on the bill of materials, then move to the bench to align and fasten subassemblies, using the right hand and power tools for each step. When you need to create mounting points, you drill, tap, ream, countersink, or spot-face holes using a drill press or portable tools. You measure twice—using calipers and other precision gauges—and confirm tolerances before moving forward. As wiring comes together, you verify continuity and resistance, record test results, and correct anything out of spec. You scan each surface for defects, clean components with air hoses and approved solutions, and keep your area organized and safe. Throughout, you collaborate with teammates, share learnings, and ensure every unit meets drawings and customer requirements. What you’ll do Interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, work orders, specifications, bills of materials, and reports to plan work and materials. Assemble, align, position, and secure parts into frames, subassemblies, and final assemblies with hand and power tools. Use fixtures, templates, microscopes, and appropriate tooling to fit and integrate components accurately. Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes; create mounting and wiring points with drill presses and portable drills. Measure and verify dimensions/clearances using precision instruments (e.g., calipers) to ensure conformance to specifications. Inspect surfaces and test wiring, assemblies, and circuits for proper operation; document results and correct issues. Clean parts with approved solutions, air hoses, and cloths; maintain a clean, safe, and well-inventoried work area. What you’ll bring High school diploma or equivalent. Significant electromechanical assembly experience. Deep wiring background and hands-on schematic reading for assembly. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
