Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, a faith-based, premier nonprofit organization providing senior housing and services in Michigan, has a great opportunity to join our service coordination team as a Full Time Wellness Coordinator, at the Village of Oakland Woods, Pontiac Michigan. We invite you to help us create new possibilities for quality living for the seniors we serve.The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality, resident focused wellness programs designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of residents that are consistent with PVM's mission, vision, beliefs, vlaues and strategic goals.In addition to great residents to serve, PVM offers competitive compensation; attractive health benefits package, including employer cost share and medical benefits; generous Paid Time Off, Paid holidays, and a Retirement Savings Plan with immediate contribution opportunities, immediate vesting, and an employer match after 1 year.For immediate consideration please visit www.pvm.org, to review the complete job description, upload resume, complete application, and learn more about our organization.Engage residents in the process of identifying, developing, implementing, coordinating and/or leading wellness programs (i.e., health promotion, lifelong learning, & social/community engagement programs) that address their needs andDevelop, implement, coordinate and/or lead health promotion programs that may include but are not limited to exercise classes, nutrition classes, stress management classes, relaxation classes, health fairs and other similarDevelop, implement, coordinate and/or lead lifelong learning programs that may include but are not limited to computer/technology classes, arts & crafts classes, book clubs, Bible study and other similarDevelop, implement, coordinate and/or lead social/community engagement programs that may include but are not limited to birthday celebrations, special events, movie/theater/other off-site outings, overnight trips, volunteer opportunities and other similarCollaborate with the Service Coordinator and other associates to offer wellness programs that address residents’ needs and deSeek and cultivate collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations to offer wellness programs that address residents’ needs andAssess residents’ satisfaction with the wellness programs and make adjustmentsIdentify and assess wellness program outcomes and make adjustmentsTransport residents using the van/bus to off-site locations for shopping, banking, doctors’ visits, social outings, special events and other similarMaintain the Fitness Center and conduct Fitness activities.Coordinate the Memory Care program & schedule of activities.Supervise all programming assistants along with the transportation department.Collaborate with PVM’s Lead Service Cooridinator/Wellness to ensure that all wellness programs and equipment meet PVM’s quality and safetyCollaborate with the PVM Foundation to identify and secure grant and other funding for new and/or existing wellnessDevelop and implement a data management and record keeping system for obtaining and maintaining all required wellness related data, records andDesign, author, edit, publish and/or distribute a variety of promotional materials, reports, and presentations including but not limited to newsletters, flyers, pamphlets, calendars, brochures and PowerPointWork alongside the Villages leadership team to plan and coordinate community events.Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:Presbyterian Villages policies and Safety policies and Federal, state and localAll other duties as assignedEducation: Minimum of an associate’s degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, Recreation Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience requiredExperience: Previous experience successfully leading individual and group exercise programs required. Previous experience successfully developing, implementing, coordinating, managing, and leading health promotion, lifelong learning and social/community engagement programs preferred. Previous experience working with older adults in a senior living environment preferred.Computer SkillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Certificates & LicensesCertification as a group exercise instructor with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, National Strength and Conditioning Association, Senior Fitness Association or other national recognized certifying body preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
