We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.Scope of Job: The Civil Engineer Intern is an entry level position for a graduate level Engineering student. The Civil Engineer Intern will be a contributing member of the Engineering Dpt. with a focus on site development civil designs as it pertains to SWPPP measures, grading/earthworks, structural plans, and geotechnical studies. The Civil Engineer Intern will assist the Engineering Team with generation of foundation designs, interpretation of geotechnical reports, and recommendations as it pertains to stormwater management and erosion control. The Civil Engineer Intern must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in communicating complex technical topics with nontechnical audiences. The Civil Engineer Intern will be responsible for clear communication and effective interactions both within the Company and externally with Company consultants, contractors, clients, and partners.The preferred Civil Engineer Intern candidate will live local (within an hour commute) to the Millwood, WV project site and have the ability to be onsite for the duration of the internship period. This position does not provide relocation assistance for nonlocal candidates. The internship period is expected to be from mid-May/June 2026 through August 2026.Internship Duration: 12 weeks beginning May 2026.Responsibilities:Prepare engineering deliverables, including plan and elevation drawingsandschematics for commercial and utilitysolar and BESSprojects.Develop designs in consideration ofavailable equipment, existing site conditions,andOSHA safety requirements for construction and system operation, with the primary focus onsiteconditions andracking systems.Develop the capability to conductsiteassessments,review soilboringsand environmental assessments,andincorporate intoconceptual design deliverables in support ofthe EPC department andbusiness.Communicatewith Project Managersaboutscheduling and permitting for project execution.Create, organize, andmaintaindocuments associated with projects’ basis of design throughout the project life cycle;assisttheprojectteam inidentifyingkey project design risks and enabling effective decisions.Other duties as assigned.Goals of Internship: The Civil Engineer Intern will support EDFps-DSP's on staff Civil Engineer with grading designs, civil estimating, structural designs, and stormwater management designs, especially as it pertains to on site-work in Millwood, WV. These responsibilities will also be applicable to projects located elsewhere.Skills to Acquire: The Civil Engineer Intern will become proficient at operating Trimble GPS Equipment and integration of GPS (elevation) data within AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Civil Engineer Intern will become proficient at generating and quantifying civil design features such as grading, foundation designs, and stormwater management structures.Working Conditions: This positionis based atan activeconstruction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoorswith varying weather conditions and terrain.Approximately 60% of work time will be spent outsideonthe project site.Approximately40%of work time will be spentin the project trailer/officeenvironmentutilizing computers and software/programs. Applicant must be comfortable working outdoors and with construction personnel. Applicant is expected to conduct themselves safely and professionally on the job site.Education/Experience:Currently enrolled in Master's of Engineering academic program.Bachelor's of Science degree in CivilEngineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.1-4 yearsof relevant design experience, including experience in designing foundations and structuresfor construction; PV design preferred.Passed FE Exam (Engineer Intern)Required.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
