Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities VA Careers - Psychologist: Total-Rewards-of-an-Allied-Health-VA-Career-Brochure.pdf Psychologist: vacareers.va.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/Total-Rewards-of-a-Psychology-Career-Flyer.pdf The Psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological screening assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. At the full performance of this position, the incumbent will perform a variety of duties, including, but not limited to, the following: Contributing to the gathering of biopsychosocial assessment information. Developing detailed treatment plan for veterans serviced by the Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP} Providing recovery planning and psychological treatment to Veterans with SUD and a wide range of co-occurring disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, PTSD, depression, psychosis, and personality disorders. Participating as a member of an interdisciplinary SUD clinical team providing a full range of psychological services (including group, individual, and couples psychotherapy) within an outpatient SUD treatment program. Providing evidence-based individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to veterans with complex mental health problems, especially as regards to adaptation and rehabilitation. Participating as a member of medical center hospital committees as directed. Serving as an advisor, consultant and/or resource person to the staff within the medical center. Maintaining appropriate records and follow-up data on patients who are their responsibility. Serving as a member of the planning group for evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment program and modifying it to better serve the needs of the patient. Complying with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completing clinical reminders for all patients. Complying with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes, completing encounters, and signing or co-signing notes). Attending regular Psychology Service staff meetings, Medical Staff meetings, MH&BM Staff meetings and complies with Psychology Service peer review procedures.
