Job Title: Packaging Design Engineer Sr. Location: 4545 Towne Centre Court, San Diego, CA 92121 Duration: 12 Months Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Pay Range: $55u2013$60 per hour (W2) We are seeking a u201cPackaging Design Engineer Sr.u201d to join one of our leading healthcare clients. Position Overview The Senior Packaging Engineer will lead the design, standardization, validation, and optimization of inbound and internal logistics packaging solutions. This role ensures automation readiness, transportation efficiency, regulatory compliance, and packaging performance while supporting cross-functional and supplier initiatives. Key Responsibilities + Lead end-to-end packaging design (concept through mass production), including structural/material selection, 2D/3D CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and cost optimization. + Conduct distribution studies and ensure compliance with ISTA/ASTM standards. + Own validation activities, including protocol development, execution, reporting, and deviation management. + Define supplier packaging requirements and perform risk assessments for damage reduction. + Support automation readiness and DFx reviews. + Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives. + Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and external vendors. + Provide project management and administrative support to leadership. Required Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Packaging, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or related field. + 5u201310 years of technical experience in packaging or manufacturing. + Strong knowledge of packaging validation, ISTA/ASTM standards, and DFx principles. + Experience in root cause analysis and process improvement. + Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) and pallet optimization software (TOPS Pro, Cape Pack). + Strong communication and project leadership skills.
