AWS Security Analyst

Description We are looking for a skilled AWS Security Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will focus on strengthening our cybersecurity posture by implementing controls, ensuring compliance, and addressing security vulnerabilities in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering teams, auditors, and cloud operations to support security initiatives across global teams. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead readiness, implementation, and ongoing audit activities for SOC 2 Type II compliance across multiple operational areas. u2022 Collaborate with auditors, engineering teams, and cloud operations to implement security controls and resolve compliance gaps. u2022 Apply cybersecurity and cloud control frameworks to enhance organizational security measures. u2022 Validate compliance within SaaS-based infrastructure, troubleshoot security challenges, and confirm the effectiveness of controls. u2022 Conduct application security tasks such as vulnerability scanning, basic penetration testing, and remediation validation. u2022 Analyze security issues identified during audits or scans and work with developers to implement resolutions. u2022 Develop proof-of-concept solutions to verify security approaches and address vulnerabilities. u2022 Participate actively in agile workflows and contribute to security workstreams across global teams. u2022 Utilize compliance tools such as Vanta and productivity platforms like Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Teams to manage security operations. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in firewall technologies and configuration management. u2022 Knowledge of AWS Security Hub and familiarity with cloud-based security tools. u2022 Hands-on experience with security operations, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. u2022 Strong understanding of security frameworks and their application in compliance management. u2022 Ability to reproduce and address security issues reported in scans or audits. u2022 Experience with SaaS infrastructure and cloud security practices. u2022 Proficiency in using compliance and productivity tools such as Vanta, Jira, and Confluence. u2022 Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
