Description Weu2019re looking for a Casemaker Operator to join our Bindery team. In this role, youu2019ll operate and maintain casemaking equipment to produce high-quality hardcover book cases while ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity.Key ResponsibilitiesAbility to read a ruler and take precise measurements is required Ruler Test will be conducted during interviewSet up, operate, and troubleshoot the Sheridan Casemaker to meet work order and quality specificationsPrepare and assemble materials, monitor glue levels, and feed raw materials efficientlyPerform quality checks to ensure correct case size, alignment, and appearanceAccurately read rulers and measurement tools; perform basic math (fractions/decimals) for setup and verificationRecord production counts, complete logbooks and skid tickets, and communicate material needs with forklift operatorsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; perform routine cleaning and lubricationFollow ISO, JWI, SOP, and safety standards at all timesPerform preventative maintenance and support continuous improvement efforts Skills General labor, Packaging, Inspection, Machine operation, Machine operating, Tape measure, math, Assembly, General production, Hand tool, Mechanical, Load, quality inspection, monitoring tools Top Skills Details General labor,Packaging,Inspection,Machine operation,Machine operating,Tape measure,math,Assembly Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred RequirementsExperience operating casemaking or similar bindery/manufacturing equipmentStrong ruler-reading and measurement skills (required)Basic computer skills and ability to read and interpret work ordersMechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and dependable work habitsForklift certification (required or ability to obtain)Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Winchester, VA.
