Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Wixom, Michigan. In this role, you will focus on recovering outstanding debts and ensuring accurate tracking of payments. This is a fully on-site position for an initial duration of six weeks, with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities: u2022 Conduct collection calls to recover outstanding debts and maintain consistent follow-up with clients. u2022 Monitor and track debt using Excel to ensure accurate and up-to-date records. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to process cash applications and resolve payment discrepancies. u2022 Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities and ensure compliance with company policies. u2022 Communicate effectively with customers to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes. u2022 Analyze aging reports to prioritize collection efforts and meet recovery targets. u2022 Provide regular updates to management on collection progress and challenges. u2022 Utilize relevant software tools to streamline collection processes and improve efficiency. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in commercial collections, with a strong understanding of collection processes. u2022 Proficiency in using Excel for tracking and analyzing debt-related data. u2022 Familiarity with cash application processes and resolving payment discrepancies. u2022 Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage customer interactions effectively. u2022 Strong organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. u2022 Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and reporting. u2022 Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
