Department:Emergency Department Location:Henry Ford Hospital, 16151 19 Miles Rd Clinton Township, MI 48038 Schedule:Full-Time (40 hours per week) Shift:Afternoon Shift Position Overview: Join the Emergency Department team at Henry Ford Hospital as aPatientRegistration Representative, where youu2019ll play a vital role in supporting patients and visitors. Following standard operating procedures, youu2019ll manage patient reception, face-to-face check-ins, pre-registration, insurance eligibility confirmation, and cash collections. Your responsibilities include new patient registration, updating records, and addressing inquiries with professionalism and compassion. As the first point of contact, you will advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met while providing exceptional service that fosters trust and loyalty. This position is key to creating a welcoming and efficient experience for all who enter the Emergency Department. Education/Experience Required: u00b7 High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. u00b7 One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting preferred. u00b7 EPIC training/experience preferred. u00b7 Insurance payor systems experience preferred. u00b7 ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred. u00b7 Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. u00b7 Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff. u00b7 Must be willing and able to instruct others. u00b7 Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
