FTE: 0.900000 Shift: Shift 3 Schedule: WeekendProgram, 36 hours per week. Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Job Summary:The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in themanagement and delivery of respiratory care. Demonstrates competenciesin respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populationsand age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcare professionaladministering respiratory care procedures acute care areas and criticalcare areas. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the mastery ofclinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students onrotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able to act as leadtherapist as needed. Under the direction of the Pulmonary ServicesLeadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients inaccordance with the hospital's policies and procedures. EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCPII competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role is required. 3+years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care ispreferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Associate degree from a CoARCaccredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor's degree ispreferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Critical thinking skills arerequired. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin license as aRespiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered RespiratoryTherapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) isrequired. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the CertifiedRespiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT.American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma EducatorCertification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator CertificationBoard (NAECB) is preferred.
