Role: Application Release Management Location: Mount Laurel, NJ Mandatory: Devops CICD, Azure Cloud, VMC2. Role Overview The Application Release Engineer (ARE) is responsible for managing and executing code releases across multiple environments with minimal developer dependency. This role focuses on ensuring seamless deployment cycles, building and maintaining automated release pipelines, and collaborating closely with development, operations, and existing ARE teams to streamline delivery processes. The ideal candidate has strong understanding of Azure and VMC2 environments, CI/CD systems, and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Key Responsibilities u00b7 Release & Deployment Management u00b7 Move application code across environments (e.g., Dev u2192 QA u2192 UAT u2192 Production) with accuracy and compliance. u00b7 Ensure deployments are executed smoothly with minimal developer intervention. u00b7 Maintain release calendars, documentation, and deployment logs. u00b7 Automation & Pipeline Engineering u00b7 Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application releases. u00b7 Automate repetitive deployment tasks to improve reliability and speed. u00b7 Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to enhance pipeline efficiency. u00b7 Environment Coordination u00b7 Coordinate with existing ARE teams to standardize processes and reduce dependency on developers. u00b7 Troubleshoot environment-related issues (e.g., config, infra, versioning) to ensure operational readiness. u00b7 Platform Expertise u00b7 Leverage strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and VMC2 (VMware Cloud) for environment setup, deployment, and troubleshooting. u00b7 Support cloud migration or hybrid deployment models involving Azure/VMC2. u00b7 SDLC & Governance u00b7 Apply deep understanding of the SDLC to ensure best practices across planning, development, testing, release, and post-release stages. u00b7 Enforce release governance, compliance checks, and version control standards. u00b7 Collaboration & Communication u00b7 Work with Developers, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Project Managers to ensure release readiness. u00b7 Communicate release status, risks, and dependencies proactively. u00b7 Required Skills & Qualifications u00b7 Hands-on experience in code deployment and release engineering. u00b7 Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud platform and VMC2 environment. u00b7 Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). u00b7 Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices. u00b7 Experience in version control systems (Git preferred). u00b7 Ability to troubleshoot build and deployment issues independently. u00b7 Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills. Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 2/20/2026 The annual salary for this position is between $77,000- $91,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizantu2019s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizantu2019s applicable plans.
