Requisition ID: 179743 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Mining District Department: Business Development & Proposals Market: Mining Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As a Business Development Manager, you will lead sales efforts and have primary account responsibility for clients in the mining and heavy civil markets. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing relationships at all levels of the organization necessary to effectively communicate our value to clients as well as to translate our services into cost competitive solutions to meet their needs. Relationships must extend across a diverse client base to ensure Kiewit is attuned to evolving market conditions as well as suitable teams are assembled when clients require a composite solution. #LI-WJ1 District Overview Kiewit Mining Group has grown steadily to become one of North Americau2019s leading contract mining companies operating in various commodities, including gold, coal, phosphate, oil sands, iron ore, talc, and aggregates. The scope of work that is pursued consists of contract mining, mine infrastructure development, mine reclamation, mine management, mine planning, permitting and heavy civil grading projects. Location This position will be based out of our regional office located in Lone Tree, CO. Responsibilities u2022 Strategic Client Relationship Building. u2022 Develop and sustain a robust pipeline of relevant, qualified opportunities. u2022 Lead pursuits, analyze results, and maintain existing client relationships to facilitate communication on current and future project performance. u2022 Expand work with existing clients through additional services and offerings that meet clientu2019s evolving needs. u2022 Continually evaluate the market for new clients and new service offerings that can be delivered for current Kiewit clients u2022 Serve as the client advocate for all responses to client request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFIu2019s) and work solicitation inquiries; present to management argument for go/no go decisions. u2022 Drive continuous assertive client follow up, rapid opportunity identification, and issue resolution. u2022 Lead all client-based events as well as business development-oriented conferences and other client events. u2022 Advise and support other professionals involved in business development from other segments of Kiewitu2019s business units in their efforts with clients. u2022 Provide support as requested on client contract negotiations. u2022 Support business development for all Kiewit entities as needed and as appropriate. u2022 Become and remain continually informed on industry developments and the competitive landscape. u2022 Identify and communicate competitor and market sector intelligence. u2022 Develop the proposal strategy and value messaging for proposals. u2022 Manage and lead proposal writing for proposals. u2022 Nurture relationships with key client individuals to support Kiewitu2019s proposals. u2022 Communicate with the client before, during and after the proposal process to gather specific guidance to ensure our service offerings meet their objectives. Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, construction or business preferred (or for the right sales professional, a strong willingness and aptitude to gain through training a broad understanding of our market and specific service offerings). u2022 At least 10 years of experience in Mining and/or Heavy Civil environments. u2022 Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills and ability to positively motivate. business development and marketing staff and clients. u2022 Ability to travel as needed to achieve the results for the position. u2022 Proven experience in a professional service-related sales role. u2022 Local to Denver or willing to relocate.
