Position Overview MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care for newborns in a supportive, family-centered environment, including couplet care when appropriate to promote bonding and continuity of care. Practice Highlights + Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) + NICU Bed Count: 10 beds + Average Daily Census: 5-6 + Call Schedule: Shared call with pediatric team; typically, 1:3 Shared call with neonatologist. They are currently doing 1:2 + NICU Team: Experienced neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and case managers dedicated to family-centered care + Collaborative team including pediatricians, obstetricians, and nursing staff + Opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives and education Responsibilities + Provide comprehensive care for premature and critically ill newborns + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes + Educate families and support staff on neonatal care + Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Compensation & Benefits + Guaranteed Salary: $346,920 + Commencement Bonus: $70,000 + Longevity Bonus: $30,000 after Year 4 + Moving Allowance: $15,000 + Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement + CME allowance and paid time off Our Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
