Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.As a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist specializing in epilepsy at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, you will serve as an embedded clinical pharmacist within inpatient neurology services, partnering closely with neurologists, epileptologists, advanced practice providers, nurses and interdisciplinary care teams to support hospitalized patients with complex epilepsy. This role focuses on acute and subacute inpatient management, including participation in daily rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring and evidence-based optimization of anti-seizure medication regimens during transitions of care. You will play a central role in medication safety, seizure prevention strategies and patient and caregiver education while collaborating within specialized inpatient teams. Opportunities to contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives and learner education further distinguish this role within Cleveland Clinic’s nationally recognized Neurological Institute.A caregiver in this role will work primarily day shifts. Weekend expectations are every 8th weekend and holiday expectations are once yearly.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Routinely and continually provide pharmaceutical care for patients, considering their age and clinical condition.Provide general and patient specific drug information to patients, physicians,nurses and, and other health care professionals.Support Clinical Pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by direct interaction and formal educational programs.Maintainexpertisein areas of practice through continual learning, journalreviewand other educational activities.Educate Clinical Pharmacists, Technicians, Pharmacy Students, Post-GraduateTraineesand other caregivers in Pharmacotherapywithin inthe specialty area.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:PharmD orBachelor’s Degree in Pharmacyfrom an accredited college of PharmacyCurrent state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible within90 daysof hireCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within90 daysof hire (if administering immunizations)Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, including providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring for at least 50% of time in the specialty area OR four years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, including providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring for at least 50% of time in the specialty areaPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Board certificationPhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.Must have normal or corrected vision.Must have ability toclearly communicate verbally by phone or in personPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredPay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
