You will support the design and delivery of highu2011voltage transmission and distribution substation projects and contribute to the technical quality of assigned engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.Some of the tasks you can expect to work on in this position are condition assessment of existing systems, feasibility and master plan studies and detailed design and construction oversite for power generation facilities, distribution systems and substations. You will be contributing to real substation, transmission, and energy transition projects. Expect to increase your modeling skills while modeling complex power systems to evaluate load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash hazards and to develop relay protection strategies. Additional design activities will include lightning protection systems and grounding. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program Foundational knowledge or coursework in one or more of the following: Power system analysis Highu2011voltage equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers) Protection and control systems Substation design principles (HV, MV, LV)Ideally you will also have Previous relevant intern experience is preferred Experience with 3D modeling and viewing software such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, Revit and NavisWorks System modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar modeling software Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the futureJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
