Job Description As the Senior Design Engineer u2013 Fire Protection, position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluoru2019s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments. u2022 Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts u2022 Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts u2022 Develop and review specifications, including design criteria based on applicable codes, client, and underwriter requirements u2022 Provide technical support in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting u2022 Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of complex to difficult engineering complexity u2022 Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in areas of expertise and be willing to assist in training and development of less experienced engineers and designers u2022 Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material, conducting training seminars, and performance appraisal input and counseling u2022 Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines u2022 Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements u2022 Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience u2022 Advanced knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national codes and standards u2022 Advanced knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors u2022 Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner u2022 Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting u2022 Managing and leading a large project u2022 Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out u2022 Practical field experience u2022 Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs Other Job Requirements u2022 Professional registration (PE license), or ability to obtain, in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering u2022 Advanced experience in an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company u2022 Advanced knowledge in design, installation, and selection of active and passive fire protection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems u2022 Practical field experience related to the installation, start-up, and commissioning of fire protection and alarm systems Preferred Qualifications u2022 Ability to utilize AutoCAD to produce 2D diagrammatic drawings and sketches u2022 Ability to design fire protection systems utilizing Revit and/or AutoSprink u2022 Ability to perform hydraulic calculations using either AutoSprink, HASS, or PipeNet u2022 Life Sciences and pharma industry experience u2022 Semiconductor and micro electronics industry experience u2022 Data center industry experience We are an equal opportunity employer. Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidateu2019s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
