u00a0Middle School Language Arts and History TeacherFalk Laboratory School, a co-educational K-8 laboratory school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh, seeks a full-time, experienced, and dynamic school librarian for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning in August 2026.Candidates should have successful teaching experience in middle or high school English/ Language Arts and History/Social Studies classrooms.u00a0The educator filling these roles will be responsible for continuing to develop a program that features Progressive ideas about Language Arts and History instruction.u00a0Supports sixth-grade students' executive functioning and successful transition to MS by explicitly teaching organization, time management, note-taking, and self-advocacy skills; scaffolding long-term History and English projects; partnering closely with advisors and families to build student confidence, independence, and academic routines.u00a0The successful candidate will have a strong vision for dynamic approaches to Language Arts and History education, strong collaborative skills, and a willingness to support educational research. Strong skills in oral and written communication will be required to frame and present the complex world of Language Arts pedagogy to a variety of audiences.Teaching ResponsibilitiesResponsible for teaching students for 170 school days during your contract period.Service ResponsibilitiesFalk teachers are expected to contribute to program areas, including supporting program admissions, engaging in program development and revision, and meeting any PDE requirements (including accreditation).
