This position will be responsible for installing, testing, configuring, monitoring, performance tuning, security, and developing evaluation plans, education programs, corporate policies, and procedures. This role will demonstrate a high-level of responsibility and consistency by contributing to the timely response and closure of incidents received via the corporate incident tracking system. The Database Administrator will work to identify functionality to empower users. This key individual frequently interacts with multiple departments to advocate for customers' projects and incidents and providing timely responses. Essential Accountabilities: Level I u2022 Plans, tests and implements new database software releases, patches, upgrades, maintenance, or enhancement initiatives. u2022 Monitors and manages existing systems to provide pro-active support to users such as: o Growth of data files, database objects, and space usage alerting and reporting u2022 Supporting the Application development project lifecycle activities may include but are not limited to: o Implements database objects and/or database object modifications to support application maintenance or enhancement release initiatives such as tables, indexes, procedures o Migration of database physical structures from development through production o Migration of data from one environment to another u2022 Protects the integrity of the database through effective behaviors relating to security, overall policies/procedures, audits, and documentation. u2022 Configuration of database backups and ensures backup completions are successful. u2022 Accurately prepares all documentation to comply with change management controls. u2022 Participation in Disaster Recovery and 24x7 on-call support. u2022 Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companiesu2019 mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs. u2022 Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures. u2022 Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. u2022 Performs other functions as assigned by management. Level II (in addition to Level I Accountabilities) u2022 Monitors and manages existing systems to provide pro-active support to users such as: o Development and implementation of database metrics alerting and reporting o Monitoring of databases and associated hosts using various performance monitoring tools o Communicates existing and/or potential performance issues to appropriate support groups u2022 Supporting the Application development project lifecycle activities may include but are not limited to o Planning, coordination, and implementation of database objects and/or database object modifications to support application maintenance or enhancement release initiatives o Supporting timeframes defined by project management process u2022 Provides problem recognition and resolution support to appropriate support groups and internal/external customers. u2022 Develops, tests, and implements database backups that ensures recoverability within negotiated customer specifications. u2022 Assists in database tuning such as configuring database parameters, performing database reorganizations, and statistics. u2022 Monitors execution of controls to ensure compliance (i.e. Segregation of Duties). Defines and implements the process to maintain application security. Communicates existing and/or potential security violations to management. Level III (in addition to Level II Accountabilities) u2022 Reviews new database releases and determines impact to current systems. Creates and evaluates standards for new database software releases, patches, upgrades, maintenance, or enhancement initiatives. u2022 Independently leads platform teams and works with teams to meet business, technical and people goals. u2022 Leverages a strong ability to integrate database knowledge with application support u2022 Evaluates, recommends, and implements performance improvements across corporate database systems. Identifies poorly performing SQL patterns and recommend changes to improve performance. u2022 Support of the Application development project lifecycle activities may include but are not limited to o Provides technical consultation for applications development on data manipulation and data migration o Applies application patches when required o Guides application team, promoting corporate policies and sound code promotion practices u2022 Defines, creates and maintains database disaster recovery plan. Coordinates database recovery efforts with appropriate support groups and affected business units. Level IV (in addition to Level III Accountabilities) u2022 Acts as trusted advisor to the management team. u2022 Emphasizes technology cost optimization when designing new solutions. Provides technical consultation for Applications Development. u2022 Recognizes, designs, administers, or arranges continuing education programs for users. u2022 Serves as mentor for peers. This includes 24x7 on call escalation for incidents. u2022 Proactively generates relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology based on knowledge of the corporate business, products and systems, and customersu2019 business needs. Leads business critical projects efforts for IT infrastructure. u2022 Leads internal strategic efforts and collaborates with peers. Participates in the selection of the database management system & other related software. Minimum Qualifications: NOTE: We include multiple levels of classification differentiated by demonstrated knowledge, skills, and the ability to manage increasingly independent and/or complex assignments, broader responsibility, additional decision making, and in some cases, becoming a resource to others. All Levels u2022 Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Analytics or relevant field. In lieu of degree three (3) years of related work experience required. Bacheloru2019s degree preferred. u2022 Basic knowledge of database management systems administration. Examples may include but are not limited to: o Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) o Non-Relational Database Management Systems (Azure Cosmos) o Cloud Infrastructure Services (AWS, Azure, OCI, Google) uf0a7 Platform as a Service uf0a7 Database as a Service u2022 Basic knowledge of structured systems analysis and design with special emphasis in systems administration, project management, user relations, data integrity and data gathering techniques. u2022 Basic knowledge of relevant operating system. Examples may include but are not limited to: o On premise hardware (Windows OS, Unix/Linux OS) o Cloud Infrastructure Services (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Google) uf0a7 Infrastructure as a Service u2022 Basic knowledge of programming/scripting languages. Examples may include but are not limited to: o PowerShell, Bash, YAML, Liquibase u2022 Basic knowledge of security, compliance, and audit policies/procedures. u2022 Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form. u2022 Ability to prioritize and organize workload, manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Level II (in addition to Level I Qualifications) u2022 Two (2) years of related work experience. u2022 In-depth knowledge of database management systems administration. u2022 Requires thorough knowledge of relevant operating system. u2022 Experience with IT computing resource management and optimization. o Administration of Database Monitoring Tools such as Idera, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) o Basic knowledge of Enterprise Monitoring Tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Log Analytics Workspace (LAW) u2022 Intermediate experience of Disaster Recovery. u2022 Basic knowledge of Automation Systems. Examples may include but are not limited to: o Ansible o Azure DevOps u2022 Intermediate knowledge of security, compliance, and audit policies/procedures. u2022 In-depth knowledge of structured systems analysis and design with special emphasis in systems administration, project management, user relations, data integrity and data gathering techniques. u2022 Ability to support Application Development initiatives through research, design, and implementation. Level III (in addition to Level II Qualifications) u2022 Four (4) years of related experience. u2022 Advanced experience with database management systems administration and related database tools. u2022 Advanced experience of Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions. u2022 Advanced experience with database security. u2022 Independent database technical resource on application projects. u2022 Ability to provide internal mentorship within team. Level IV (in addition to Level III Qualifications) u2022 Six (6) years of related work experience. u2022 Demonstrated competence in team leadership/technical leadership, facilitation, and project leadership. u2022 Demonstrated experience generating innovative approaches and solutions to complex problems. u2022 Possesses extensive knowledge of technologies outside of core administration job function. u2022 Experience improving the quality of processes used by the Data Platform team. u2022 Professional certification in job-related technology preferred. Physical Requirements: u2022 Ability to complete work in a traditional office environment under fluorescent lighting. u2022 Ability to work while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for three (3) or more hours at a time. u2022 Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity. u2022 Ability to travel across regions. u2022 Willingness to provide 24x7x365 support, some weekend work. Equal Opportunity Employer Compensation Range(s): Leve I: Grade E2: Minimum: $62,400 - Maximum: $84,000 Level II: Grade E4: minimum: $65,346 - Maximum: $117,622 Level III: Grade: E7: Minimum: $87,766 - Maximum: $157,978 Level IV: Grade: E8: Minimum: $98,297 - Maximum: $176,935 The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position.
