The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the Cityu2019s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. Inpatient Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Supervisor Provide supervision and technical/clinical direction to clinical pharmacist, staff pharmacist and pharmacy technicians in an acute care inpatient pharmacy setting. Responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and standards regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services and departmental pharmacy objectives and policies, and procedures; operational oversight of the acute care clinical pharmacy program; oversight of personnel assigned to work in the Inpatient Pharmacy. In addition, you will assist the Director of Pharmacy with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of your assigned area. The eligible list resulting from this recruitment may be utilized to fill future and current vacancies in this class at other locations within the DPH for the duration of the eligible list. Under general direction, the Supervising Pharmacist provides supervision for pharmaceutical services within the San Francisco Department of Public Health to assure quality patient care, appropriate drug therapy and compliance with all applicable regulations. The essential functions include: + Manages, supervises, and schedules assigned personnel, including completing performance appraisals, and carrying out appropriate disciplinary actions as needed. + Designs, implements, and evaluates pharmaceutical services. + Continuously interprets and assists in the development and implementation of departmental rules, regulations, and policies. + Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other health-care professionals, as well as the general public. + Prepares and maintains reports, memoranda, and records. + Assists in managerial decisions including developing the budget. + Develops and trains staff to support and enhance professional development. + Performs professional pharmacist duties as needed. + Procures pharmaceuticals and supplies and maintains inventory. The 2453 Supervising Pharmacist also performs other related duties as assigned.
