Responsibilities NORTON C HILDREN'S GASTROENTEROLOGY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and part of Norton C Hildren's Medical Group, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible pediatric gastroenterologist to join our team of physicians and staff providing a broad range of clinical gastrointestinal services. The candidate will function as part of a dynamic, growing team dedicated to meeting the needs of c hildren through clinical care, research, education and advocacy. The current pediatric gastroenterology service covers the 300-bed free-standing, full-service Norton C Hildren's Hospital and two local outpatient clinics. This program offers multidisciplinary care in aerodigestive diseases, eosinophilic esophagitis and G-tube/feeding disorders with plans to expand this m odel.The University of Louisville School of Medicine shares a vision with Norton C Hildren's Medical Group to grow and further expand our practice and UofL's pediatric gastroenterology division. Through Norton C Hildren's Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, providers have the opportunity to mentor residents and participate in clinical research. The pediatric gastroenterologist who joins our team will have access to a broad range of clinical and academic pediatric gastroenterology services.ABOUT THE POSITION- Oversee quality improvement, research and administration for inpatient and outpatient clinical service- Opportunities for expanded research, teaching and clinical program involvement at the University of Louisville and its residency program- Lead growth and expansion of relevant Norton C Hildren's multidisciplinary clinics, specifically the Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic and Aerodigestive Disorders Clinic- Opportunities for personal growth through leadership development and pursuit of advanced degrees, such as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Louisville School of Business- Competitive salary and academic rank commensurate with experienceThe physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
