The successful candidate performs inspection,testing, communicates to customers both internal and external, and providescrew supervision. Typical work weeks while in the field range from 60-91 hoursper week. The Seasonal Generator Field ServicesEngineer provides field engineering oversight on all types of generatorwork for a minimum of 1560 hours per year. This position offers 4 months ofoptional work time to help with the employeeu2019s work-life balance. The Generator Field ServicesEngineer provides the same support but does not have optional workingmonths. These positions are part of the Turbine andGenerator Specialty Services based in Region North America but serve customersglobally. These opportunities are great roles for someonewho enjoys traveling, is a self starter who enjoys using all availableresources and is able to build innovative solutions to challenging mechanicalissues, and is looking to begin or continue their engineering career with agrowing dynamic company How Youu2019ll Make an Impact + Conductelectrical and mechanical specialty testing (low and high voltage) asrequired; Perform visual inspections, and collaborate with engineering toprovide recommendations to the customer about potential unit repairs. + Prepareand forward accurate reports concerning the condition and repairs andrecommendations for customer equipment + Ensuresall work is performed per approved processes and procedures whilemaintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. + TheSeasonal Generator Field Service Engineer works directly with our leadingstaff of field service engineers to develop skills that include equipmentoperation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership,and Siemens Energyu2019s business systems + TheGenerator Field Service Engineer, may supervise technicians working ongenerator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (outages),both planned and unplanned system outages which can occur due to equipmentperformance issues, based on experience. + Collaboratewith our worldwide engineering staff to perform specialized mechanical andelectrical testing; You will serve as the primary customer contact duringoutages and ensure that repairs are made in a timely and accurate manner What You Bring u2013 Seasonal Role + Must have either a High School diploma/GED; pursuing or have a Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related field is a plus. + Minimumof 6 mos experience in field service is preferred; Candidates with moreexperience may be eligible for a more senior level position. + Ability to ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, including confined spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances and share cramped office trailer with other employees; + Working knowledge of large electrical apparatus, including but not limited to, generator inspection, testing, generator rewinds and repairs; This position is 100% REMOTE due to 100% travel is required. Generator Field Services Engineer + Youhave or are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering,engineering technology, or related field. + Minimum of 6 mos experience in field service is preferred; Candidates with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level position. + Mustbe willing to travel for extended periods of time. (Typical travel is200-250 days per year for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time; Whiledeployed, expect extended working hours of up to 12-14 hours per dayincluding weekends/holidays, 6 u2013 7 days per week.) + Mustbe able to ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, including confinedspaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weatherconditions, walk long distances and share cramped office trailer withother employees Applicants must be legally authorized foremployment in the United States without need for current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization.
